As someone who isn’t very good in directions, I took a risk just to have the chance to make it to District Komiks.
Stepping inside instantly made me feel like I’m back to my gradeschool days when I was so fond of reading Archie comics, which is really a fun thing for me. The place/location is a little hard to find because it isn’t that big, and still not quite famous to the people near the area (tricycle drivers, to be specific).
Started with the sour cream-flavored fries, a taste that stays in my mouth and constantly craving for more. Another addition to my favorites is the Carbonara with Adobo flakes, which is really tasty and the combination of the two compliments each other. Lastly, my friend and I both had two takes of juice (I had two bottles of lychee, and two bottles of blue lemonade for her) yes, we love it, but it somehow shows that it didn’t suffice our thirsts the whole meal.
The owners are also the one responsible for cooking in the restaurant, that’s why the service is undoubtedly great. Actually, we were quite starving even before getting there, but what’s nice in District Komiks is that, they don’t take too long to serve your orders. Despite of making it faster, the quality is not pulled down— and that’s what makes District Komiks stand out.
I should have brought more of my friends. The place really embodies the saying, “The more the merrier”. A lot of activities can be done as a group, and it would really be so much fun.
I was here last weekend and tried some of their signature dishes. I personally recommend District Komiks to friends because the vibe here looks different.
In terms of food, they are generous when it comes to their servings, very flavorful and not your ordinary food you see everywhere name it, they have various silogs to choose from, signature Tuyo Pasta that I bet you’re gonna love as well.
Although the location is a bit far from where I live I was interested in finding out how this small restaurant conceptualizes comics with their dishes. I was hoping to see more comics on their shelves in addition to Archie comics nevertheless it’s worth visiting. If you like to eat while Instagramming this is one of the places you must visit. Staff are very welcoming and I will definitely come back soon.
